Mandatory AHCA Level 2 Background Screening Requirements
Required for All EKG Technician & Telemetry Learners
To begin a career in any Florida healthcare setting, including hospitals, clinics, long‑term care facilities, and diagnostic centers, all learners must complete aFlorida AHCA Level 2 Background Screening. This is a state‑mandated requirement, not an Oluwadoyinsolami Academy policy.
All learners enrolled in the EKG Technician or Telemetry program attest that they:
· Will complete their Level 2 Background Screening no later than Week 3 of class
· Pass the screening with no disqualifying offenses
· Understand that failure to pass the screening prevents healthcare employment
This requirement is mandated under Florida Statutes §408.809 and §435.04.
What a Level 2 Background Screening Checks
A Level 2 screening includes:
· FBI fingerprinting
· Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) check
· National criminal history check
· Search of abuse, neglect, and exploitation registries
This screening determines whether a learner is legally eligible to work in a healthcare environment.
